Costinești in September: Why Late Summer Is the Best Time to Visit

Everyone comes to Costinești in July and August. But September is when the coast truly shines — and locals know it.

The water is still warm

The Black Sea holds its heat well into September. Water temperatures hover around 22–24°C, warmer than early June. The beaches are nearly empty, and sunbeds are half the summer price.

The town breathes again

By mid-September, the crowds thin and Costinești returns to its laid-back self. Restaurants don’t have queues. The promenade is peaceful. The Moon Lounge at Luna Marina becomes the quiet reading nook it was designed to be.

Better weather for exploring

Daytime highs of 25–28°C are perfect for walking — to the Obelisc, the lake, the train station, or the old town. Without the August heat, you can actually enjoy being outside all day.
